TELLING THE DATE

Conversation

Teacher: Good morning, class! Today, we will learn about telling the date.
Amina: Teacher, what does date mean?
Teacher: A date tells us the day, month, and year. For example, today is October 24, 2025.
Ali: Oh! So, we say the day first and then the month and year?
Teacher: Yes, very good! In English, we say, “Today is October twenty-fourth, twenty twenty-five.”
Amina: What day was yesterday?
Teacher: Yesterday was Thursday, October 23rd, 2025.
Ali: And tomorrow will be Saturday, October 25th, 2025!
Teacher: Excellent! Now, everyone, tell me today’s date!

Story: A Special Day at School

It is Friday, October 24th, 2025. The students are excited because it is School Culture Day.
Amina wakes up early, looks at the calendar, and says, “Today is the twenty-fourth of October!”
She wears her school uniform and goes to class.
Ali checks the date on the board. The teacher writes:
