Conversation: “Introducing Ourselves”

Teacher: Good morning, class! Today, we will learn how to talk about ourselves.
Ali: Good morning, teacher!
Teacher: What’s your name?
Ali: My name is Ali Ahmed.
Teacher: Nice to meet you, Ali. How old are you?
Ali: I am 12 years old.
Teacher: Where are you from?
Ali: I am from Somalia.
Teacher: So, you are Somali!
Ali: Yes, I am Somali.

Teacher: What about you, Amina?
Amina: My name is Amina Yusuf. I am 11 years old. I am from Kenya, but I live in Mogadishu.
Teacher: Excellent, Amina!

 

Short Story: “A New Student in Class”

One morning, a new student came to class. His name was Omar.
The teacher said, “Welcome, Omar! Tell us about yourself.”
Omar smiled and said,
“My name is Omar Ali. I am 13 years old. I am from Ethiopia, but my family lives in Somalia now.”
The students said, “Nice to meet you, Omar!”
Omar felt happy. He made many new friends that day.
